Well it's a new year and I haven't been able to do much fishing lately. The snow and ice is keeping me from getting me to the lakes. Hopefully I can get out there real soon!

Eagle Lake - Today I took my long time friend Carlos with me. We got on the water at 7:15. Headed to Troxel point and got the lines in the water about 7:30. Used gold Cripplure with red tape, a brown grub w/a wigglefin, and a brown grub on an Uncle Larry's black perch spinner all with Pro-Cure Nightcrawler Super Gel. 7:45 Fish on! Nice 3lb 4oz. 8:00 Fish on! Nice 3lb 12oz, then nothing for the next hour. We picked up and moved to the youth camp. Trolled for half an hour then started catching fish again. All fish were caught on brass red Cripplure behind a Slingblade with pink tape. 15' deep on the downrigger, caught a total of six fish, released two. Off the lake by 12 noon.

Frenchmen's - Fishing is still very good all over the lake. I have had multiple limits every time we go out for the last three months. They are hitting on just about everything. My best setups are Cripplure and Hum-dingers behind Slingblades with Pro-Cure Nightcrawler Super Gel, or Uncle Larry's spinners with a 2" brown grub. Trolled 1.3-1.5 mph, 10-14 ft deep.

Eagle Lake - We have been fishing the north basin at Troxel point in 9' of water with the downriggers at 6-7' deep using brown and orange grubs, black grubs, and brown trolling flies. Fish are 3-5 lbs, 19-22" long and very hard fighting. Takes 10-15 minutes to land these fish, they take 5-6 runs before giving up.
Have fun and good luck!

Frenchman's- I have been fishing the north end of the lake from the Narrows to Snallygaster Bay and Turkey point. The fishing has been good to excellent. Also fish from the dam to the point on the East Shore. I have had good results with chrome slingblades and a silver-green-orange humdinger with Pro-Cure nightcrawler gel and Uncle Larry's fire tiger pro Snell spinners with a threaded baby night crawler. The downriggers are ten feet deep, 150-200' back, 1.2-1.5 mph. We've had limits every trip. Fish are between 15-18" and hard fighting. Good luck and book a trip now. This action won't last too long!

Stampede - Fished with client Carlos Cordova. Got on the water 6am, started fishing north of boat launch when we caught a nice 14.5" Kokanee before I could get the third rod in the water. We got the rods back in the water and hooked up again. Fished from 6am to 10am. The fish were 13.5" - 15.5" with one at 12". We were using pink bugs, pink RGT's behind watermelon Dodgers and double bladed spinners with red beads and white spinners and red beads with red spinners. Corn was dyed with Pro-Cure corn dye with Preditator and Kokanee Special scent.
Water temp was 70 degrees, fished 50-70 feet deep. If you are catching small fish, go deeper, even if you aren't marking them, they are there. Speed was at 1.2 - 1.6. Here's our catch.

Stampede - Lots of Kokanee action from Sage Hen to the island. Fish are 13" - 16" with no Copepods on them. I used pink and white bugs, spinners, etc. Down in the 40' to 65' range. EZ limits.

Donner Lake - The kokanee are biting in good numbers. Most are small, 8" - 12" but there are some bigger fish from 14" - 16" in there, you just have to weed through them. Limits are possible. Fish 55 to 70 feet. I used pink and green bugs. The Mack bite is slow but may get better as the moon changes.
